The sold out event ended with over 7,000 spectators by Edoardo Bennato the ninth edition of Un'Estate da Re , the festival that celebrates great symphonic music, opera, dance and singer-songwriter music, hosted in the evocative setting of the Royal Palace of Caserta from 19 to 31 July.
Five shows , 9 hours of live national radio broadcast on Radio Kiss Kiss, over 2 million views and 10,000 social interactions : these are the numbers that tell the story of the success of an event that confirms itself as one of the most important cultural events in Southern Italy, and which this year had as protagonists, among others, Toni Servillo , Daniel Oren, Gilda Fiume, Nicoletta Manni , Timofej Andrijashenko and Edoardo Bennato.
Last night, the "pirate of rock," 79 years old and with undiminished grit, thrilled the audience with a concert over two hours long , offering a musical journey through his most iconic songs: from "The Cat and the Fox" to "Neverland ," from "The Master Is Dry" to "Girls Make Big Dreams ." A show punctuated by personal stories and songs that have influenced entire generations, performed by one of the most beloved and original singer-songwriters in Italian music, known for his wit, civic engagement, and fusion of musical genres.
Planned and financed by the Campania Region (Cohesion Funds Italy 21/27), organized and promoted by Scabec under the artistic direction of Antonio Marzullo , with the collaboration of the Management of the Royal Palace of Caserta , the Municipality of Caserta and the Municipal Theatre “Giuseppe Verdi” of Salerno , Un'Estate da RE proposed a high-quality programme, capable of combining tradition and innovation.
The evocative First Courtyard of the Vanvitellian Complex saw the participation of major figures from the Italian and international artistic scene. On July 19, the Accademia Barocca di Santa Cecilia , violinist Giovanni Andrea Zanon , and actor Toni Servillo opened the festival with a concert-tribute to Antonio Vivaldi , performing La tempesta di mare and Le quattro stagioni . On July 23 and 25, it was the turn of Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata , conducted by Maestro Daniel Oren , with soprano Gilda Fiume , tenor Stefan Pop , and baritone Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar , accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the “G. Verdi” Theater of Salerno . On July 30, the show La gioia di danzare , produced by ARTEDANZAsrl and conceived by Nicoletta Manni and Timofej Andrijashenko , enchanted the audience with masterpieces from the classical repertoire and contemporary choreography.
From a location set up inside the Vanvitellian Complex's famous "Tangli" (telescope), Radio Kiss Kiss —a partner of the initiative—lively covered the event, featuring interviews with key figures and insights into the area's cultural beauties.
